Nicole moved to Grande Prairie in 1997 from Nova Scotia after an online search revealed the lowest unemployment rate in Canada was in Grande Prairie, Alberta. As the story goes for many, it was a one-year plan that turned into a lifetime.
Nicole was introduced to volunteerism and the importance of community connection at an early age and her involvement continued with her volunteer work through organizations such as Rotary, Canadian Mental Health Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Nicole views her work at the Foundation as a continuation of her desire to stay connected to the community and to contribute to its long-term viability.
Nicole has over 20 years experience in business and specializes in communications and digital media. Her specialization allows her to indulge her passions of learning, writing and design. These passions drive her to stay current in the constantly changing digital landscape of communications.
When Nicole is not at the Foundation, she can be found spending time with her husband, three wonderful stepchildren and the family dog or travelling to her favorite destinations of Nova Scotia and Costa Rica.
