Leaving a Legacy
More than 100 years ago, the founders of Grande Prairie worked together to create the community we call home. Today, we carry on their legacy – and in doing so, we are collectively contributing toward our own: enhancing our region’s healthcare for the next generation.
We are all driven to make a mark that lasts long after we are gone, and setting up a legacy gift is one of the most effective ways to do just that.
A Gift That Keeps Giving
Legacy giving, also known as planned giving, means setting up a gift of money or other assets in a will or estate plan. Though the gift will not be distributed until after we are gone, the tax benefits for your estate start immediately – making this an attractive option for donors and beneficiaries alike. Over the next eight years, these gifts are going toward our region’s greatest needs:
- Completing the Ken Sargent House to offset costs during a medical stay
- Building improved preventative and emergency cardiac care and treatment in the region
- Creating the Sargent Family Kidney Care Centre to better serve our growing population
- Recruiting and retaining more primary care providers to the region
- Enhancing mental health and wellbeing resources and programs
