Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation

Supporting Mental
Health & Wellbeing

In North America, one in four adults lives with a mental disorder – and in Canada, there is only one psychologist for every 2,053 patients. 88% of these psychologists live in urban centres, and the rural service gap for young people, Indigenous people, and people experiencing homelessness is critical.

Together, we can help.

A Sustainable,
Long-term Solution

Mental health affects how we operate in the world, how we see each other, and how we feel about ourselves. It is a key component of our long-term physical health.

To help address this shortfall, your Foundation envisions the creation of an ongoing fund to provide long-term, sustainable support for a wide range of mental health programs. The goal is to raise $5.2M by 2029, enabling enough annual interest to maintain the funding indefinitely.

Supporting mental health in the north is crucial now more than ever because the challenges facing today’s world – ranging from global uncertainties to personal stresses – affect everyone differently. Prioritizing mental wellbeing in our region not only helps individuals cope and thrive but also strengthens our communities, making us all more resilient, compassionate, and connected.
