Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation

Healthcare Should
Feel Right at Home

Some of the most common advice in medicine is to “stay home, rest, and recover”. In the years ahead, your Foundation wants to make sure that all people in the Grande Prairie region can do exactly that.

A Vision for Better Northern Care

In northern Alberta, we consider each other neighbours, even though we may be miles apart. That means we are always ready to help each other out when it is needed most – and right now, your local healthcare needs you. Currently, many conditions and procedures require travel to distant cities, and this trend has to change. Over the next five years, your support will bring substantial, meaningful, and long-term enhancements to five key campaign pillars in the region – an ambitious goal, but one that has never been more urgent.

The Ken
Sargent House

This 21-suite residence facility will help offset the cost of care for patients, families, and caregivers from out of town. Located near the hospital, it will immediately alleviate financial strain during an already stressful experience.

Cardiac Care

The North Zone is in desperate need of additional cardiac care facilities to help prevent and treat cardiac emergencies. Your Foundation is currently raising awareness with the provincial government in preparation for a fundraising push in the future.

The Sargent Family
Kidney Care Centre

Northern Alberta is experiencing more chronic kidney disease cases than ever before, emphasizing the need for more diagnostic facilities and resources for treatment. This new centre and its associated clinics will provide thousands of people with the care they need at the local level, keeping them closer to home.

Improving
Primary Care

There is a shortage of primary care physicians in the Grande Prairie region, increasing strain on emergency rooms as a result. Your Foundation will implement new initiatives to attract and retain more physicians and specialists for longer periods of time.

Mental Health
& Wellbeing

Mental health is as important as physical health. With your help, we hope to raise money to create ongoing and permanent programs and initiatives to help underserved local populations heal and flourish.

Indigenous Cultural Space

Your support will help create a space in our hospital where Indigenous patients and families feel welcomed, respected and supported, while staying connected to their cultural practices and traditions. Together, we can make this space a reality.

The Ripple Effect

On the surface, this campaign will deliver better care in the specific areas listed above – but the impacts will be felt in many ways, everywhere in the region.

Better Local
Healthcare

You will strengthen the quality of care in the Grande Prairie region, keeping that care close to home and keeping families and loved ones close to patients who need them.

Reduced Travel
Burden

You will reduce the stresses of travel for healthcare by enhancing local services throughout the region, saving thousands of dollars in expenses for people already suffering.

Ongoing Holistic
Care

You will fund initiatives that directly impact patients and families in the north, from those with ongoing chronic conditions to those in need of immediate emergency and critical care.

A Brighter
Future

Your support means an investment in the future and long-term benefits for the current and next generations, creating an endless ripple effect of positive change for tomorrow and beyond.

It All Starts With You

Whether you are making a small monthly contribution, leaving a large legacy gift, or freely giving your time to volunteer for your Foundation, it all adds up to something big. Together, we can help regional healthcare to thrive and flourish.

We Cannot Afford to Wait

It is ambitious – but if we all donate, we all benefit.
