Is there a minimum donation amount?
The minimum amount that a donor can make to a GoFundMe fundraiser is $10. This minimum donation amount is due to industry-standard transaction fees applied to each donation.
Do all donations receive an income tax receipt?
Yes, donations of $10.00 or more will be issued a tax receipt automatically from the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation. All donations to the Backyard Burger SHOWdown fundraiser are collected and distributed to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation
The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation is a charitable business registered with Canada Revenue Agency, Charitable Business Number 11910 7175 RR 0001
All donations of $10 or more will be issued an income tax receipt to the full extent permissible by law.
What do I do if someone makes a donation outside of GoFundMe (i.e. cash/cheque)?
If someone gives you a donation outside of GoFundMe or you would like to add your own donation to your fundraiser, you can add it as an offline donation, so it will count toward your goal. You can download a paper form to help keep your offline donations organized for entry later HERE.
To add an offline donation from a desktop or mobile browser, please:
- Sign in to your account
- Once you are on the ‘Manage’ screen for your fundraiser, scroll down
- Select ‘Donors’
- Next to the ‘Search’ bar, select the three vertical black dots
- Select ‘Add offline donation’ and enter the donation information
- Select ‘Add donation’ to save the information and add it to your fundraiser
To add an offline donation from the GoFundMe app:
- Open the GoFundMe app
- Click “My campaigns” at the bottom and select your fundraiser.
- Go to the “Manage” section for your fundraiser
- Scroll down and click on “Donations”
- Select the plus sign (+) in the bottom right-hand corner
- Enter the donation information and click on “Save”

Once you complete the appropriate steps, your donor’s name, donation amount, and any comment will appear on your fundraiser. You can send a thank-you note to your offline donors only through the GoFundMe app. Learn more.

All donations must be entered into your Backyard Burger SHOWdown fundraiser by Aug 23 @ 4 pm MDT.
Can I get a refund on my donation?
No, once you have donated, it can not be refunded. Please know all donations will be put towards saving tiny lives at your hospital – you are making a BIG difference in the lives of thousands of babies and their families. Thank you for caring about the health of your community.
What happens if I don’t reach my fundraising goal?
There is no penalty for not reaching your goal. The only requirement to enter the SHOWdown is to raise a minimum of $50. You can change your personal goal during any time of your fundraising challenge.

How can I enter to win People’s Choice, Biggest Burger, Team Spirit and Peace Region Backyard Burger Champion?
You must register for the event and enter a picture of your burger(s) through direct messaging on any of our social media channels to win. Complete contest details can be found HERE.
There will be no taste-testing of your creation. This event is a feast for the eyes only.
